WHAT: Arriving to the Diamond City.
WHERE: Diamond City, which is due northeast of the Cave.
WHEN: Backdated to the evening of May 7th through May 11th.
WARNINGS: None so far.

Among the ruins and tattered memories of the world outside, the Diamond City stood in untouched splendor. Its buildings reached greedily toward the sky, higher and higher toward the center ring. The tallest building of all was a skyscraper supporting what appeared to be a gigantic diamond atop the ornate spire at its highest point. It shone onto the rest of the City below, adding an ethereal prism to whatever surfaces it touched and only serving to highlight the the strange feeling that the Diamond City once lived and thrived as a beautiful metropolis.

This reputation was no more. The streets were empty: clean and untouched for a century, looking as if the residents had simply up and left mere days before. Water flowed freely through the canals that sometimes ran underneath the roads or suspended living districts, thick in the east and thinning out in frequency toward the west. The waters seemed surprisingly clean, although no manner of living creature appeared in their depths.

WHERE: The Overworld.
WHEN: Forward-dated to May 1st (Tuesday) through May 7th (Monday).
WARNINGS: May contain violence or other mentions of physical harm. This is not summer camp.

Gathered in the morning haze, Sleepers were brought to the mouth of the Cave with plenty of supplies and equipment. Compasses that would point them toward the City. Backpacks full of clothes and food, medical kits, tents and even weapons. Stun rifles and knives — to fight off any unwanted company, they said. ("Watch out for their bite," Ryan had commented. "Those fuckers are downright feral.") The straight and narrow path would get them there in six days if they kept a good clip. They were sent off just like that. Refusals to leave were met with a wall of guard force officers blocking the entrance back into the cave city. No way to go but forward, unless someone was particularly stalwart about remaining.

From the exterminator's station near the mouth, leaving the Cave was as simple as a short hike upward into the fresh air of the Overworld. Dust and an uncomfortable sort of heat pervaded the atmosphere, light winds stirring up the sand and teasing the meager bits of vegetation that had grown. No matter what direction you looked... it was all wasteland, cracked ground and desolate emptiness. Jutting up from scarred ground were boulders and small spires made entirely of glass and patches of stone; instead of reflecting the harsh sunlight, they seemed to absorb it and only add to the muted loneliness of the atmosphere. As far as the eye could see, there was no life to be found.

With no other option, the Sleepers eventually made their way onward.

WHO: Twitch (Dr. Grant)
WHAT: Twitch is new here. He has no idea what's going on, but he's going to be exploring and doing some reading.
WHERE: The cave, specifically the library
WHEN: Immediately after his arrival (April 10th)

This place was strange. Stranger than the facility on the island had been. At least then, it had felt familiar, even if he hadn't understood why he knew his way around the facility. But this wasn't something completely knew, and on top of that, his dream hadn't been real? But that part... that part made sense.

They hadn't told him what the accident had involved. Maybe it was what made him like this, unsure of what was going on. Unsure of even his own name. The name "Allen Grant" held nothing for him. But then, "Twitch" had been something the children in his dream had called him because of his ever present nervous tick. It had been something he enjoyed, a name more real sounding than anything else, but he didn't exactly want to get in trouble for calling himself something that he was told wasn't real.

Twitch was a much better name for himself, because he would be a terrible doctor. His hands shook all the time. About the only time he was able to hold them steady was... well. He hadn't exactly found a consistent manner in which he was able to hold his hands steady.

It must have been a terrible accident, though, for him to not remember his name. To not have a name even in his dream. How many years had he been in the hospital? The photograph of him was quite old and he did look younger, maybe by ten years or so.

His head hurt, and the place was making him disoriented and confused. It was why he found himself, after a long time, at the library. Maybe he could find something here. Something about the city as it used to be, before the Disaster. Maybe he could find some newspaper clippings about himself here. About what made him into this scared, nervous wreck of a man. About the accidents. Anything at all.

He had been told he was respected, surely he was well liked enough that there would be something?

WHAT: Somebody else got struck by the memory rehab bug, thinks his name is something else. Now Liam's trying to deal with the idea that he might have his head screwed on wrong without being able to tell.

NOTES: What the hell is consistent narrative name, do not even get me started on trying to figure out which one to use. IT'S JUST "HE" AND "HIM" OKAY.

Sky of Diamonds

Sky of Diamonds is a panfandom roleplaying game. Characters are awoken from a cryogenic sleep, told that all of their memories are simply dreams from their long rest. While they were out, the Disaster struck and destroyed a large percentage of the world, leaving only the Cave, where they are, and the City, where they will be going.

 They are then sent out on a pilgrimage across a wasteland known as the Land of Glass in order to reach the Diamond City and rebuild their lives. What is the meaning of their lack of memories? What was the Disaster? Who is the Caretaker? These are the questions you may ask yourself. It's up to you and your fellow Sleepers to find the answers.
